I don't really have any interest in making a piece for this contest, or the EL tonic. Most I'm doing is just throwing a donation towards this workshop.

Moas.

Mmmm cookies. I think I would like a picture with tree all hazy and glowy in the background better than one on a counter with supplies around it.

Gotta get a book....gotta get a book... Tzu if you bump me out of book place I will cry. :-P hehehe

If I can get it back I will see if it fits on the Gwen-doll.

Edit: Had to remove the stuffing that was in the nose bridge party and fold it up to fit on Gwen. Luckily I had the fabric so it would stretch around her fat little head.

If you don't get an Art Book out of that I think I might start a picket line outside the Arenanet offices.

I made a little bit of progress last night. Here's the final result,

or rather

but with the recently added details.. XD

May not look like much yet, I'm still using multi-coloured scraps, and my sketching is smeared all over it. Looking forward to painting it to see what it *really* looks like. Still quite a lot of details to add though.
Ignore the black strips in the first image, they're keeping things adjustable while I work. I'll be replacing those with a solid piece once I'm close to finished.

Here's the how-to and plenty more pictures: wordpress entry.

If anyone's got any contructive criticism, especially on the wand/staff featured in the blog entry, please share! ^-^

@Tzu: I confess my ignorance... what costume will it be? How come you are not on the first page list btw?

It's the beginning of the cuirass belonging to the Avatar Of Dwayna.
I'm not on first page because I'm not sure I'm going to enter the contest. I'm making the costume regardless, but we'll see.

Tzu thanks for posting that picture of the Avatar of Dwayna. I was sure I'd seen her with blue skin before but couldn't find a pic and was starting to think I'd watched too many sci fi movies

Looking great so far, Tzu! Here's a small suggestion for the staff: I think the area directly below the top arrow should extend downwards vertically a little bit & then curve into the wings rather than directly curve into the wings from the botton of the arrow like in this image:

If I understand you correctly, I think it already does. It's just not very obvious. Here's a bigger version of the image - the blog crops all the pictures automatically. The colour is just not right though. X'D Need to repaint I think, ease the gradients too. Thanks!

Tzu - it's nice that you post pictures but also explain them in detail so that it gives people an idea of the process to make costumes.
even though i never really plan on making one, thanks for doing it anyways

Yeah I think it's just the fact that because it's leaning against the wall, it's less obvious.
Just so we're clear on which part I'm talking about, here's an image:

awesome progress, everyone! Kiya, that headgear on your son is just adorable! And I'm also really looking forward to seeing how stouda's grench turns out

I had a massive scare yesterday morning as out of the blue my laptop decided it wouldn't let me in anymore, I was starting to think I had to write off a whole lot of projects >.< Fortunately, after long forum browsing, I figured it out, and now we fixed problem! So I'm still in... *phew*

I hope to get some progress made over the next couple of days, but for now I'm going to London for some Christmas shopping
